The land is there. The buyer is there. You wait for rain, and when it comes you plant everything at once, because there is no second chance until next year.

It is slow, it costs every week, and it does not scale. Double the ground and you double the wage bill before you have sold anything.
The buyer wanted local. They bought imports.
Not because your crop was worse. Because you could not deliver in the week they needed it, and someone with a shed and a schedule could.
Every one of these is a season somebody already paid for.
The ground was ready. The seed was there. What was missing was water arriving on a schedule that somebody chose.
None of it is a farming problem. All of it is an infrastructure problem.
